Isaiah 53:4-9
4 aSurely he has borne our griefsand carried our sorrows;
yet we esteemed him stricken,
bsmitten by God, and afflicted.
5 cBut he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
dand with his wounds we are healed.
6 eAll we like sheep have gone astray;
we have turned—every one—to his own way;
fand the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
gyet he opened not his mouth;
hlike a ilamb that is led to the slaughter,
and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent,
so he opened not his mouth.
8By oppression and judgment he was taken away;
and as for his generation, jwho considered
that he was cut off out of the land of the living,
stricken for the transgression of my people?
9And they made his grave with the wicked
kand with a rich man in his death,
although ▼
▼Or because
mhe had done no violence,and there was no deceit in his mouth.
Daniel 9:26-27
26And after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one shall nbe cut off and shall have nothing. And the people of the prince who is to come oshall destroy the city and the sanctuary. pIts ▼▼Or His
end shall come with a flood, rand to the end there shall be war. sDesolations are decreed. 27And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, ▼▼Or seven; twice in this verse
and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering. uAnd on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until vthe decreed end is poured out on the desolator.”
